I stayed around Boston for the first weekend all summer and I actually had a great time! I am from Maine. Mainers spend the summer at the beach and at the lake. We don’t stay in the city and sweat! So I’ve been getting away every weekend and it finally caught up with me. I don’t own a car, so I bus it to Maine every weekend and I was sick of the bus (Concord Coach is HORRIBLE).
This weekend my friend and I decided to explore something outside of the city. We went to Minute Man Park in Lexington, MA.
The Minute Man Park is where the American Revolution began and is filled with tons of history and fun trails. We went there to go for a run/walk but also ended up going to the visitors center and watched a multimedia presentation called the Road to Revolution. It awesome presentation about the beginning of the Revolution and the history of the area. It was actually really interesting, and I recommend hitting up the visitors center and watching this film if you ever go to the park.
Next up we got our exercise on! The trails were fun! Some were flat, and some were like hiking. We did a lot of running/walking, and in between a did a bunch of strength moves like squats, pushups, dips, etc. That’s my favorite thing about working out outside… I can always get some fun strength moves in! Plus you can’t beat the fun scenery! Walking on the trails was cool, but I also got a bit of a spooky feeling too. We had just watched a film that talked about all of the people that died on the trails so it was kind of eerie! If you are ever in the Lexington area, you should definitely stop by the park for some fun and free entertainment.
